Faucetmouth, 2023-2024
For my thesis, I spent seven memorable months with Faucetmouth, an up-and-coming band local to Columbus. I collaborated closely with them to produce sets of images that reflect the group’s high energy and alt-rock sound through a commercial and documentary lens. Compiled of digital photographs, 35mm film on a point-and-shoot camera, and Polaroids, these photos were intended for use across all social media platforms to boost engagement and launch the band’s online presence with high-quality branding. The inclusion of photo album-sized prints, Polaroids, and handwritten elements create a sense of personability and invite an intimate connection between the band and the viewer. In documenting these moments, I was able to dive deeper into the personalities of these five musicians who are not just clients to me — they have become close friends in the process.
We all have, or will have, photos that take us back to our “good old days.” Whether it be a shared moment between bandmates on stage, a musician and an audience member, or a snapshot taken behind the curtain, this body of work will become a piece of that collection of memories for myself, Faucetmouth, and the devoted community that supports them.
